ABOUT US

High-quality faith-based soccer coaching for all

Our Mission

The Good News Soccer Academy exists to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the game of soccer, in obedience to the Great Commission (Matt 28:19-20).

The game of soccer can be extremely expensive, excluding many players who have the talent and desire to play but lack the financial resources to do so.  The Good News Soccer Academy provides high quality coaching at highly reduced costs or free of charge to families in the Memphis, TN metropolitan area.

We accomplish our goal of spreading the Gospel through soccer utilizing the following avenues:

1) One-day Clinics

2) Multi-day Camps

3) Building Nieghborhood Playing Fields

Club History

Good News Soccer Academy began in 2021 after 5+ years of prayer and planning by husband and wife team, Andy and Natalie Metcalf.

The two desires that served as the catalyst for the club are the Metcalfs passions

  • to share the Gospel with children who may never otherwise hear about the saving grace of Jesus Christ, and
  • to see all children, regardless of financial resources, have the opportunity to play organized soccer.

With his extensive background in the sport, Andy, who played for the University of Memphis (NCAA) and D.C. United (MLS), and Natalie put those two passions together to come up with Good News Soccer Academy.
